Unfortunately, it is official. Tomorrow morning I will be having surgery to repair a torn ligament in my right wrist that has been affecting me for the last month. After seeing my specialist and trying to get through events without having to turn to this, my surgeon and I have come to the realisation that there is no other effective alternative. I hate to have to write this post but it really is what it is.
I just honestly want to say thank you to everyone who put their neck out for me this year to even get to this point. My game and mentality was ready and to have to take a couple of steps back again has been a really hard pill to swallow. I genuinely feel like I am letting a lot of people down along with myself and that really is one of the parts that I am struggling with the most.
My rehab will be 6 weeks in a cast followed by 6 weeks in a splint and then I can begin strengthening. My goal is to return again and be ready for the ALPG season in Jan but it will be dependent on certain things. I do feel it would be hard to give up on a dream that I have yet to have a real shot at chasing. So with that being said, I will be sure to keep you updated on here with what will happen going forward.
I do want to quickly say a very special thank you to my coach Joe Vogel for standing by me through this all. I know this hits close to home for you too. And to my sponsor Clem for all your support this year and especially now.
And lastly, THANK YOU to everyone else who follows and supports me. I can’t tell you how much each message fuels me!
